How often have you ignored people because you think, “Nope, I’m above them and don’t need that in my life.” We are so quick to categorize people into people who do and do not deserve our kindness, without thinking about what Jesus would do.
Jesus calls us to rescue people and lead them to Jesus, not judge them. You often hear the phrase “Love the sinner, hate the sin.” As Charlie mentioned this weekend, as soon as we say that phrase, we are judging people. We have labeled them sinners instead of people. What would the world look like if we did just that? Treat people as people and not sinners. We can flip that phrase to be “Love the person, not the sin”.
Practice being generous, with your words, with your actions, with your money, and with your time. Let God use you as a vessel of grace and transform the lives of the people you encounter.
