As you may have heard, the physical work on our new facility has finally begun! While we are still awaiting approval for the civil drawings, we have received the grading and clearing permits. This week crews set up a fence around the perimeter and began the work of clearing the land to get it ready for grading. It is now easier to visualize the scope of this new building as the landscape beings to change.

Here are a couple more highlights:

  • Playground: Thankfully, we were able to donate the playground structure on the field to another party who will put it to good use.
  • Interior Design: A team including trained interior designers began work last month with particular attention being focused on the “Fireside Room” or coffee area in the lobby.

Funding Milestone Reached

As of September 19, we reached $1,266,802 in total donations received. This means we are halfway to our goal of $2.5M raised! This is reason to celebrate and thank God for his provision.

We recognize so many of you are giving sacrificially to this effort. If you have given consistently, thank you! The project could not have begun without your generous contributions. If you have not made a financial commitment to Cornerstone for Generations, prayerfully consider what God may ask you to commit in faith. If you have fallen behind in your donations, pray that God would help you meet your commitment.

There is still a long way to go with funding. Beginning the end of last month, we started monthly payments to the contractor to continue the physical work on the project. As you pray, ask God to provide the resources for the project to continue.

On a related note, Church on the Ridge is now certified by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). This is kind of a big deal. This certification is based on the ECFA Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship, “including financial accountability, transparency, sound board governance and ethical fundraising.” This means the leadership of Church on the Ridge willingly follows the model of biblical accountability with your donations.

What’s Next?

After crews complete the clearing, they will begin grading and laying utility lines underground. When we have received a full permit, work will being on pouring the footings and foundation.

How Can You Pray?

Here are a few specific ways you can focus as you pray:

  • For a full permit
  • For a dry winter
  • For favor with our subcontractors
