Christmas is coming and it’s an amazing way to remember the reason for the season. Christmas is joy, lights, laughter, family and friends, toys, songs, sleighs and snow. While watching the best Christmas movie ever, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966 version of course), I came to the little thought near the end where the Grinch has his epiphany.

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow,

Stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so?

It came without ribbons. It came without tags.

It came without packages, boxes or bags.

And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore.

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.

What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.

What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.

—Dr. Seuss

The message hit me again. Jesus is a whole lot more! Even the meaning of his name, deliverer, means more than you thought. One of the prophecies that Only Jesus could fulfill is found in Isaiah 52:7. How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation. The word salvation is the same root word as Jesus. What do you need salvation from this Christmas? The good news for you is that Christmas is coming.

Christmas was never meant for people who want everything and need nothing but has always been for people who need a Savior. That is exactly what Jesus came to be. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: he is Christ the Lord. That is Christmas.

I hope to see you at one of the five Christmas Gatherings. Invite a friend.
Remember – NONE on Sunday morning.
In Him,

Charlie
